Mondo Atomic!

Mondo Atomic, cover by Matt Timson

Wired just ran a write-up on my upcoming comic Mondo Atomic. It’s a retelling of Plan 9, Brain That Wouldn’t Die, and Robot Monster. The artists are all amazing, including Matt Timson (Impaler) who delivered an awesome cover! The interior guys are Steve Buccellato (Elephantmen), Zane DeGaine, and John Amor.  The comic is coming to iBooks, Kindle, iPhone, Android, and print.

Sorry I haven’t blogged much lately. Lots of deadlines and other obligations.

The Tea Goddess Preview

The Tea Goddess by Dekker Dreyer

My novella, The Tea Goddess, is coming to all major booksellers soon. It will be available exclusively in an ereader format, to go along with its themes of renewable resources.

I’ve gotten the okay to put the first three chapters online! Download them below in all major formats.

“In the near future two people on opposite ends of New York’s economic divide will travel halfway around the world to discover the secret that unites them in a race to avert global disaster. Set in front of a rich landscape of future politics, economies, and culture, The Tea Goddess is a heart-pounding eco-punk thriller by newcomer Dekker Dreyer.”

The Arcadian Cometh

Lance Henriksen in The Arcadian

Lance Henriksen in The Arcadian

We’re almost wrapped on principal photography for my first narrative feature, The Arcadian. It stars Lance Henriksen (Aliens Series, Apaloosa), J. LaRose (Saw Series, Repo),  Bill Cobbs (Night at the Museum, That Thing You Do), Sab Shimono (Waterworld, Southland Tales), Adam Sessler (G4), Deshja Driggs-Hall (Poundcake), Brian Thompson (X-Files, Buffy), Bonnie Morgan (Terminator: TSCC) and others. I don’t want to say too much, but the movie is an awesome marriage of Heavy Metal, Kurasawa, Mad Max, and Tommy. I can’t wait to be able to write more about it. Some people have asked what we shot on… well… the jig is up… we might be the first feature film to wrap on the Canon 5D.
