Winter Photos and Things I Didn’t Buy

Here are a few items I chose not to buy. Some are easy to see why, others are just odd. The above photo showcases a do it yourself lead testing kit… obviously the kit is some kind of harness to allow an infant to place the suspect paint or other material in its mouth, just wait five to six years and results will be clear.

Yes! This is hip cream with an actual 3D behind punched in the packaging.

This is actually two products I couldn’t figure out, but I thought they went together. It looks to me like the mother bird creature has vomited the scared-looking duck back into the cup half macerated.

These are a little belated, but these are photos from my first Christmas season with Julia.

The car was COVERED in thick snow.

This is another diner portrait of Julia. I like that diners have paper handy.

Undateable Photos via eHarmony

Hot geeky costume pics are called “undateable”? Ha!!!

Someone forwarded this to me this morning and I thought it was too hilarious not to post. Apparently eHarmony (the online dating site for those who don’t watch the commercials during daytime court shows) is circulating a list of 5 photo types, that when posted to your dating profile will make you “Undateable”.

Knowing a few people who engage in the high art of cosplay I found photo type #4 to be one of the funniest things of the week:

Photo #4: You’re Dressed as a Superhero

We get that some people really like to dress up in costumes even when it isn’t Halloween. There are many social events and social circles where this is accepted and encouraged, and more power to people who find their niche in the world. However, while your friends may understand your penchant for dressing like the original Superman at Comic-Con, most people perusing your profile won’t.

We aren’t suggesting that you make an effort to—excuse the pun—disguise who you are. In fact, any person who’s worth your time will delight in your quirkiness. But when you’re putting yourself out there, it’s best to save the fun photos for later on down the road.”

Yep. If you like cosplay enough to post your winning anime con pic on eHarmony you might try to be more subtle about your geekery. I’m just amazed that eHarmony gets enough cosplayers to make it an issue! Maybe they need to frequent Otaku Booty instead.

Then again, maybe they’re on to something…
