Over the last few days, since launching Tentacle Grape brand soda, the internet has started to formulate certain strange ideas about the mysterious nature of the carbonated drink.

1. Tentacle Grape is Japanese:  Yes and no… mostly NO. The soda was conceived by me while I was hosting the Anime After Dark Monterey show back in November. I’m an American and it’s an American idea. My wife, who co-produces the product with me, is half-Japanese. So at best the product is 25% Japanese.
2. Tentacle Grape is the product of a marketing team: Once again, yes and no. My wife and I are a team and she does work in marketing… but it’s not the plot of a large corporate entity looking to test the otaku marketplace for more niche products. It’s just what it is… effing funny and tasty.
3. Tentacle Grape costs too much: Well, this is subjective, but it’s actually less expensive Mana Energy Potion and only a hair more expensive then Bawls (hehehehe).
4. Tentacle Grape is made by milking aliens or monsters: Although the idea of using free range tentacles was appealing we thought it was far too cruel to capture these majestic beasts even in a large range situation. This is why we use lab-grown tentacles to produce the optimum blend of cruelty free thirst quenching and quality control.
